tsaiko: Gif of a lemming falling off an edge (penis)
When I first started coughing up the details on my credit card to buy things on the internet, many websites asked what the expiration date on my card was. And all was good.

Lately, more and more websites have asked for my expiry date. The first time I saw it I giggled. The second time I boggled a bit. The third time I began to wonder if this was an actual word because it sounds so... ridiculous. Say it out. Ek-spir-ree.

Well, it is a word. It means "coming to the end of a contract period" (it also means "the expiration of breath, as in death" which makes me have weird mental images of my card giving up the ghost). So now I know that expiry is a word.

What was wrong with expiration date? Has it been abandoned? Left on the harsh streets of Word Usage to fend for itself? One day will I be walking the road in English Language and see it sitting on a corner, begging for work? "Please sir. Use me instead. I haven't had work since 2006."

Oh the tragedy!

I swear, after this, I am going to work on my homework.

Witch King, fragment, PG-13 for sexual references )

I just could not resist posting this fragment from the side story I'm writing.

Who am I?
