tsaiko: Multicolor skittles with the words "Skittles make me happy" (happy)
I know I've told this story before, but I'm going to tell it again. I have a Business Management Minor. I would often get to classes fifteen minutes early, set myself up, and then start writing in whatever notebook I had handy (hence the binge on finally transcribing them). If the class was boring enough, I'd also write during the class. For the first half of the semester in one of my business classes, most of the time I would work on a Duo/Heero Gundam Wing fanfic that was graphic in nature. After awhile, I noticed that one guy always sat next to me and was constantly looking at what I was writing.

I moved. He moved to follow. I moved back. So did he. I covered my notebook, he sighed and kept sneaking glances whenever I leaned back.

Dude was not subtle.

Eventually, I confronted him about it. I turned to him and said "You know, I have a website if you really want to read more." He turned about five shades of red, got up, and moved. I never saw him again. Which made me sad, because I really would have given him my website and I didn't mean to scare him off.

I just found the notebook from that class.

It's number four on my list of notebooks to transcribe, right after the NC State notebook, the green notebook, and the Community College notebook. I may move it up just to see if I can find that old fanfic. I know I never completed it, but who cares? It'll be extra fun telling this story if I can link to the fanfic in question while doing so. :D

If you are a writer and want to get creative in describing your character's hair/eye color, please for the love of all that is holy, know what color you are using. Amaranth is not a shade a purple. I can only assume you were thinking amethyst when you wrote that. If you are not sure, Wikipedia has a very awesome list o' colors to help you out. They even include the RGB of them.

Friends don't let friends give Duo Maxwell pink eyes.

Miome: Well you could always send them a bumper sticker. "I'm sleeping with your honor student."
Tsaiko: Didn't we have a story like that?
Miome: Huh?
Tsaiko: Way back in the day. I think it was a Gundam Wing story.
Miome: I remember that. Professor G sends a bumper sticker to Doctor J.
Tsaiko: "My juvenile delinquent is fucking your honor student.
Miome: *laughs*

If I remember right, that whole plot line was inspired by an actual bumper sticker we saw in Raleigh. XD

Updated my website. I didn't realize I hadn't put what I have of the (A)Typical Gundam Wind Fanfic up on the website so that's up. Fixed a typo in one of my other fanfics and put up the Ransom story. I also worked on the Kidnapped Bride story and hope to have a completed part of that at some point.

Tonight is grocery shopping and homework. And maybe some more writing.

In the interest of updating my website (don't all run to see, I didn't) and because I recently read some Gundam Wing fic that I enjoyed, I've been slowly going through my fanfic folder to see what can be put up from my days in the fandom.

You know what you should never do? You should never, ever go back and read through fanfic that is over 10 years old. Most of the ideas are solid (some not so much), but some of this writing is terrible. I want to go back and yell at my younger self. Specifically, I want to go back and yell at my younger self about beginning sentences with contractions. DO NOT DO IT EVERY OTHER SENTENCE.

Part of me wants to take all the Gundam Wing stuff, hide it, and hope no one else remembers it. I'm not going to though. It will get put up on my website (with possible the exception of the freaking song fic I wrote. Sweet Jesus on a pogo stick). I made a promise to myself that no matter how old or how bad it was, if I posted it once and got feedback I need to post it again. Because someone, somewhere probably remembers reading it and I don't want them to have to spend hours on Google or The Wayback Machine desperately hoping to stumble across an archived copy.

Yes, that is the voice of experience talking. Why do you ask?

Must resist urge to edit for all content and not just typos/grammar mistakes. At least I have no problems with editing old stuff that I didn't finish and therefore didn't put up. It really needed it. I'm not sure I could ever finish it because of the style changes between then and now. Surely it would be awkward and obvious.

...

I still really like the stories I wrote where the Gundams from Gundam Wing all have spirits and they are all dragons with distinct personalities. No, I don't care how cheesy it is.

Dork moments x2

There's an Indian restaurant near where I live that every time I go by, I think it's called Heero's. It's not, but my mind keeps trying to insist it is. I find this though vastly amusing. It was bad enough when one of the nearby towns had a "Barton College" (Trowa could totally be a Dean at a college), but this? This is just too much. Can you imagine Heero running an Indian restaurant? What's the special? Self-Destruct Curry?

There is also a flier that someone put up on campus for Eric Church. First time I saw it, I thought it said Elric Church. Then there was a long moment of "OMG, did someone actually establish a Church of Elric?" before I realized I was misreading it. Still, that was an interesting few moments.

I'm going to wait until this weekend before posting the next STFU bit. I'm just too tired to really do it justice. Also, I need to stop obsessively checking the stats page on my Fiction Press account. Yes, self, it's really thrilling that the number of views keeps going up. We do not need to check it 4 times a day.

WRITER'S MEME: Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of the top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

In no particular order.

1) Spirit of Shinagami: Going back to my Gundam Wing days here. I love this story mostly because I always loved the idea of giving the Gundams themselves personalities. It seemed only natural to start with Deathsythe Hell. Doesn't hurt that I won an award for it. ^^

2) Rapunzal: Going back even further into my fandom days. This was my first fairytale retelling ever. I still secretly love this fic. I even had it used as part of someone's thesis project on trend of retold fairytales.

3) Losing Courage: This story was written over the course of one day at work. I think my author's notes basically sum up why I love it. It's a story about relationships that don't really work out and it's no one's fault. This is definitely one of my more subtle fics.

4) Ritter's Story Part 1, Part 2: This story started out as a writing exercise for me. I had just read the book >Holes by Louis Sachar and wanted to see if I could reproduce the style of writing past and present at the same time. Still need to finish it.

5) Knowledge is Power: This was one of my favorite stories to write and I always forget that I haven't completed it until I look at it again. I like how different it is when I write from Ken's point-of-view as opposed to the Emperor's POV. It was a challenge and I like that. I feel bad that I never got around to writing more on it. Someday...

Tag. You're it.

Note to self: You should not have to go to three different websites to find links to all your stories. CONSOLIDATE YOU FOOL. It's why you have a domain.

Who am I?
