Irony is the Shackles of Youth

Thursday and Friday of last week, I felt terrible.

I would go to work, come home, and just have no energy. None. I couldn't write. I couldn't do exercises. All I wanted to do was be warm and not think. Even playing Youtube videos took too much effort. I went to bed at 8pm and woke up still tired.

I could not figure out what was going on.

Then I started my period 10 days early.

Which makes sense. If I'm going to get sick or feel like I have no energy, it's going to be then. Today I feel much better, but I'm still going to take it easy. I do need to catch up on my writing though. I had plans and darn it, I'm going to stick to them.

It's nice to have a explanation though.

Why does being female have to be so disgusting at times?

Once it is all over (one way or another), I will have to write about the saga of the house buying process. I can't right now, because I'm waaaaay to close to the whole situation and right now it's more annoying/stressful/horrifying than funny. Though even afterwards, it's only going to be funny in that "OMG, WHAT?!?" kind of way.

Only two weeks till closing. We shall see what happens.

I would like to sleep through the night at least once this week without something happening. The so far includes:

a) time change
b) over-heated/not being able to get to sleep
c) getting my period in the middle of the night

Fourth night is the charm, I hope, otherwise I'm likely to just faceplant into my keyboard at work.

I'm really thrilled you have an active sex life and that you are comfortable enough to laugh with each other in bed. However, 2:30am is not a good time to have loud and - given that you tried and cracked up laughing four times, with only a minimum of headboard hitting the wall sounds - unfulfilling sex in a hotel. The only thing that kept me from banging on the wall was the fact that I saw a just married couple in the hotel lobby, and even I am not mean enough to ruin someone's honeymoon night. Just... 2:30am? Really? And if you simply must give into the urge, can you leave out the part where you yell "Oh baby!" exactly three times at the beginning? People are trying to sleep. And I am not a happy camper this morning.

Why yes body, I would love to get my period the day before Valentine's Day.

Okay people, I'm trying to find an article that was in the news within the last three months. It was about human sexual evolution and menstruation. One of the conclusions was that one of the reasons human male's do not have balls as large as a tanuki's was because women menstruate.

Anyone else want to take a stab at locating this this article? Because while google is producing all sorts of rather interesting results, none of them are the ones I'm looking for.

tl:dr Being female sucks sometimes.

I gave the presentation for my part-time job today. Everyone told me it went well, but I'm still unsure of whether it went well or if people were being nice. Sigh. Also my laptop decided to not play nice with the wireless or vice versa. Anyway, something horked but I did manage to work around it.

Also, my uterus has the worse timing ever. -_-

Wrote one werewolf drabble and am going to see if I can get another done tonight. I'm contemplating starting a sequel. This is all the fault of you people asking about Gene and Jesse's adopted kids. My goal is to do at least one a day. So if I don't do another tonight, I'll have at least completed my goal.

Started my period just a few hours before my poster presentation. Surprise! Fucking ovaries.

Poster presentation went awesome. I was able to talk to a lot of people including a professor from another University who gave me lots of good advice and wanted to know when/where I was going to publish my research since he was interested in a similar topic. EEEE! It's so nice when someone actually cares about your research.

My fellow graduate students are awesome. They came down to support me, bought me dinner, and gave me gas money.

I have 46 lbs of books! These are all books I already owned but were at my mom's house in NC. Now they are here. The sad thing is, I didn't even clean off all my book shelves and I almost filled the box. I also managed to send a bunch of my comic cards (I was a collector of them back in the early 90's) to myself as well. So many books that I want to reread. I can't wait.

I managed to roll out of bed last night. See miome has been out of town. A lot of time in my sleep, I'll roll towards her when I get cold. Well last night, I did that only she wasn't there. So I kept rolling and rolling until I hit the floor. When I told her this she laughed at me. UNLOVED.

I have been reading the first decent gay-romance ebook today that I have read. It's not great by a long shot, but I don't feel like stopping in the middle of it. That's a small miracle. This is much better than the one book I read where the beginning and ending were good and the middle was terrible. It was like expecting to bite into a jelly-filled donut and finding that you have nothing. Not even donut... just a hole. I'm still amazed at how the author managed to do that.

Miome is coming home tonight. I am happy. ^^

You should never, ever say "You know, it would really suck if I got my period." Because fate takes that as a personal challenge and makes sure that you start bleeding even if it has to make things start a week early in order to do so. Blarg.

At least my internship is done. I went in this morning, finished with the files, zipped them up, and left. Done. Even if they aren't done, they are DONE because I am NOT working on those damn things any more.

This means I will have precious free time again! WOO!

I wonder what I should write to celebrate...

Mid-term tonight. I've studied, but still don't feel like I've studied enough. I'll probably go through the study guide a few more times today. After tonight, there are just two days, two homework assignments, one presentation, and one class left until an entire week of spring break. A week that I am going to use to WRITE and CLEAN.

Also the timing of my period SUCKS.
