Irony is the Shackles of Youth

I think most people in America have seen the Shake Weight commercial. For years, it has stood as the gold medal champion of commercial for inappropriate looking weight loss devices/routines.

Until now.

Korea has just taken the gold.

In an effort to avoid any and all Super Bowl TV, miome and I stayed in today. We had pizza for lunch. Papa John's was having a special with 1 large with unlimited toppings, so we loaded it up with veggies, chicken and bacon. Then we took a nap in the afternoon and I woke up and made meatloaf. I'm not really tired so I might make some more mint syrup. We're almost out of the last batch I made. It's awesome in tea and I still want to try making mint sugar cookies with it.

Right now I'm watching Wipeout, which is an American show that reminds me of Takahashi's castle only without the ridiculous costumes the contestants sometimes wear. I am really surprised they haven't gotten the crap sued out of them. But until they do, I'm going to laugh at people making fools of themselves and falling on their asses.

Looks like I'll be doing some of the field work for my thesis late next week. The grad student who didn't email me back for two week got brownie points back by offering me a place to stay (his parent's house) for the 2-3 days I'll be up there so I don't have to make a 5hr commute or try and find a hotel.

miome and I have become addicted to Design Star from HGTV. Mostly because it's interesting to see what the people are going to come up with (I could never be a designer because I think a lot of the stuff they come up with is hideous) and even more fun to watch people have a melt down.

Finally, I cannot wait for the school year to start. When it does, I'll have a nice set schedule and will therefor write more. I know that sounds weird, but I write much more when my plans are not constantly changing. I've gotten some writing done this summer, but would have liked to have written more.

I may regret saying that when it comes time to get my thesis going. Sigh.
