Irony is the Shackles of Youth

Of all the things I could be writing, I find myself writing Young Avengers Teddy/Tommy pointless smut.

Why muses? Why?

( The problem with realizations is we will keep going long after we should have stopped and gotten off. )

If there is something wrong with us, I hope it is never fixed.

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. I just don't feel like tackling one big project and I don't know when work is going to turn crazy again.Instead, I've decided to set some goals for myself because I have gotten really out of the habit of writing. I'm going to make myself write 1,000 words (1,500 on the weekends) on WIP. Maybe by the end of the month, I'll have something done, even if it's not a novel.

Never fear. One day I will complete NaNoWriMo for the fifth time. Just not this day.

And as a start, I have just completed my 1,000 words on a Young Avengers House of M AU. Win!

Things I did on my final business trip of the year:

- Met the awesome skylark97, got lost, and ate radioactive green cake
- Finally got an explanation as to what a flashing red light
- Have decided that Upper Peninsula, Michigan has some of the most beautiful forests I have seen
- Realized that deer in Michigan are suicidal in the morning
- Wrote 12 pages of Young Avengers Therapy Vampire AU. This means I have finished the second part, finished the third part, and started the fourth part. After that I switch from Teddy's POV to Billy's. That will be fun.

Happy blowing shit up day! I know this is rushed, but I've had the scene in my head for months (since miome gave it to me), and I just needed an excuse to write it. Totally AU, because everyone is about 9-10 in this and they already know each other.

Even though I promised this part almost a month ago, I only just now had time to type it up. I still haven't finished part 2b, but that hasn't stopped me from starting part 3. Ah well. I already knew this was going to be one of those stories that I was going to write just the scenes that I wanted to rather than all that I have plotted out.

Part 1 | Bit o' world building

Miome: This girl is saying that Wiccan's height is 5'8"
Tsaiko: Really? That seems kind of tall.
Miome: It's not that tall for a guy.
Tsaiko: It's taller than me.
Miome: Honey, most guys are taller than you.
Tsaiko: He's only 16. I thought he'd be shorter.
Miome: And how many sixteen year old guys do you know?
Tsaiko: ...
Miome: *laughing* A lot less than you did!
Tsaiko: Don't put it like that. It's sounds wrong somehow.

Today miome and I had sushi at a conveyor belt sushi place at Tyson's Corner. It was good and surprisingly not that expensive. This was helped by the fact that we both like a lot of vegetarian sushi and also by the fact that they had a plate of pickled Japanese vegetables that was awesome. My only complaint was that their inari was not that good.

I'm also going to go drop about $300 on a piece of luggage this afternoon. This sound ridiculous until you realize that 1) I travel a whole hell of a lot, 2) my current most used piece of luggage was about $150 when I bought it, 3) it is literally falling to pieces, 4) it is less than 4 years old and 5) the $300 piece comes with a lifetime warranty that includes airline damage. They will replace/fix it free of charge. That means that if I replace or have it replace once, it will have paid for itself. It's also go more interior room for clothes, is lighter, and has a handle that will be easier for me to use. So worth it for the amount of traveling I'm doing. They didn't have the piece I wanted in the size I wanted at the first store, so we're heading out to another location this afternoon to pick it up.

Finally, I worked more on the Therapy Vampire story, but was unable to finish the next scene. This is because the scene grew on me, doubling in size from what I thought it would be. I'm going to be traveling again next week so hopefully I'm get some more writing done. I have to say I can't wait to type the next part up

Why does my mind keep giving me these cracktastic AUs?

Also, I have the worse time with quotation marks when typing this up. I have no idea. If you see quotation marks missing or appearing where they shouldn't, let me know so I can fix it.

Note to self: at some point you'll need to work into the story why it's so important for Billy get over his fear of being bitten. If you can't work it into the next part, then definitely the part after that. Maybe in a short scene with Tommy?

I think we've found three of the modern biblical disasters. These include:

- 2ft of snow
- fire
- five hour plane delay (getting into Atlanta at 3am is fun. Not.)

Luckily the rain of frogs never showed. Maybe that order was canceled, kind of like my sister's Christmas present. However, the actual visit was awesome. My mom has finally seemed to come to terms with that fact that I am in love with Miome and no, this is not a phase. That is good.

This is all capped by the fact that I am writing a Young Avengers AU that is right now titled "Teddy is a Therapy Vampire."

I don't even know folks.

I cannot believe that my committee members are now bickering over the title that goes on the spine of my thesis. No matter how many alternate suggestions they give me, it has to be 76 characters including spaces. No I can't spell out "high resolution" and make it fit. No, I can't add "Indiana" anywhere in the title. No, I can't just drop my name so you can be satisfied. That has to be there too. I can't wave a wand and magically make the bindery add more space simply because you don't want to abbreviate anything. You have 76 characters. That's it.

YOU CANNA CHANGE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!

And yet, I have to admit that I'm strangely amused by this back and forth.
