Co-worker1: Mostly I hunt deer.
IT guy: I bet that's interesting.
Co-worker1: Yeah, I do it often enough that I have a butt plug plunger.
IT guy: ...
Co-worker2: ...
Tsaiko: *cracks up laughing*
Co-worker2: A what?!?!
Co-worker1: A butt plug plunger. You use it when you field dress a deer.
Tsaiko: Seriously? How do you use it?
Co-worker1: *describes in detail how you field dress a deer with this thing, I will spare you all the details*
IT guy: *typing slows down and a look of horror comes over his face*
Co-worker1: Oh hey, IT Guy. Aren't you going to lunch after this?
IT guy: *mutters* Not any more.
For those of you wondering what the hell my co-worker was talking about, here is an example. You do not even want to know how many websites I had to wade through to actually find an example of what he was talking about.

I'm also trying to decide if I'm brave enough to check out the video on the website.
I mean, the reasoning behind the tool makes sense, but the mental images.
Congratulations Tsaiko, you have successfully distracted me from my unemployment woes. At least temporarily.

I recommend not looking.
(PS - If you are looking for a job and would like resume help, I am more than happy to look over it for you)

Date: 12/4/09 02:25 am (UTC)(Thanks, but I don't think it's my resume that's the problem, at least, not for professional jobs, there's just not many of those going. It might well be what's scaring off the people handing out the unskilled casual work though.)

Date: 12/4/09 11:53 am (UTC)On the bright side, it's nice to know that my co-workers are as bizarre as I am in their own way.

Date: 12/4/09 03:53 am (UTC)I have been struggling with stupid GIS programs and I am so frickin' frustrated... but now that suddenly seems totally minor.
I'm stuck between laughing so loud that the other people in this lab are staring at me and being completely horrified.
Btw, are you familiar with GRASS, tsaiko? I was *this close* to throttling it and the comp...
