I should know better. I have such an active imagination, that I really, really know better than to read ghost stories. Does that stop me? No. I like ghost stories. I like getting that little bit of thrill from reading them. I know way too much about paranormal stuff and I'm happy about it.

The problem is when I run across something that really truly weirds me out. Like in Middle School when I read about the building that if you went to sleep with your back to it, you'd wake up from nightmares of things watching you in the dark. Or in HS when I read about the ghost of the little girl that kept trying to drain the life out of a children that had moved into the house she haunted. They managed to make contact with her through a ouiji board, and I have refused to touch one since. Or in college when someone told me that the scariest movie they ever saw included a scene where a ball bounced and rolled acround a house by itself. The guy who moved into the house and didn't beleive in ghosts got so fed up he threw it in the river. Five second later, the wet ball bounced slowly down the strairs until it rested against his foot.

Add another story to the "freak out" pile. I bought a book that had some translated Japanese ghost stories in them and some explanation of the supernatural in Japan. In there was a story about people driving along a stretch of highway that was haunted. What really creeped me out was that if the inside of the car was foggy from condensation, you could see little kids hand prints appear on the windows as you drove by the spot.

If you'll excuse me, I'll be over here on my sofa. With the light on. o_O

I've got the same problems. I love watching ghost stories on TV or reading them out of a book, but I always seem to pay later. My imagination goes way too far.

I haven't really read much along the lines of anything lately though, mostly b/c I know myself.. To read a ghost story, while I live out in the country, alone, is not so smart. Would prolly give myself some sort of stress related condition or a high electric bill due to sleeping with the lights and TV on constantly.

GL tonight!

I use to do the same thing when I lived at my Mom's house. Twenty minutes from anything resembling civilization, I'm home alone, and what am I doing? Watching a special on ghosts on TV.

There were night when Mr. Baseball Bat slept next to my bed. Just in case.

Who am I?
