nekokobanGive me a prompt, ANY SORT OF PROMPT, be it crazy wacky crossover or or weird AU or "regular" fic or an original, and I will write anywhere from one line to one paragraph from a pivotal scene. It looks like fun. And I am keeping it to ONE SHORT SCENE. Unless it grows on me.

Seven magpies burst into startled flight. Their beating wings stirred up the dirt. Jacob shielded his eyes until they were gone, then dropped his arms to his side.
At that moment strong arms wrapped around his waist, and a breathy male voice whispered in his ear. "Miss me?"

"Maybe. Maybe not." The Princess gave her a smile that had earned her more marriage proposals than she could count. It swiftly turned perdatory as she let her gaze linger on the mage's breasts. "At least the view is better this way."

Date: 7/23/06 12:25 am (UTC)"What are you drawing?" Daniel asked. Seth had filled a page with green trees and enormous flowers and was sketching brown shapes amoung the branches. "Monkeys?"
"Spider monkeys," Seth replied as he added another one peering through the leaves.
"Why spider monkeys?" he asked. Seth smile, that secret smile, like there was a joke only he understood.
"Because."

Daniel should have known better. Three days later Tsauji returned from one of his trips with a tiny spider monkey keychain. Seth love it.

Which was all the warning Davis got before Ken lunged at him.

The bell to the shop rang and Ken looked up from his place behind the counter, fully expecting the usual rush of girls right out of school. Instead there was only one customer and it was a he dressed in a grey school uniform. That was unusual.
"Can I help you?" Ken asked.
"Ah. Yes. I was looking for some flowers," the boy said. "Some of the girls at school metioned this place."
"For someone you like? A girlfriend?" he asked. The boy laughed.
"No, the person I like would prefer chocolate and soccer. These are for my mom."
"Ah. We have some nice roses," Ken said as he came around the corner. Then, almost as an afterthought. "I play soccer."
The boy blinked and smiled. "So do I."

"Oh no! I've been shot at!" the ghost said while doing extremely melodramatic wails and hand gestures. "Whatever shall I do?"
Jack gritted his teeth and reloaded his gun. It wasn't his fault that he'd caught movement out of the corner of his eye in the abandoned warehouse and reacted. That's what he was trained to do. React. "Shut up."
"The horror! The humanity! The bullets going straight through me and doing no damage whatsoever."
There was nothing in the world that Jack hated more than a smart-ass ghost.

There was a long, awkward silence. No one would look at anyone else. Kevin finally broke it.
"Right then! Let's go set something on fire."

Date: 7/23/06 01:14 pm (UTC)Now ice has lost all it's teeth. It's cool to be sure, but melts quickly and submissively under his touch. He is fire and heat. Ice has become nothing more than frozen water to him.
Not this feeling. The feeling inside him is cold and hollow, knife edged against his insides. Axel would call it dark except the dark has always been a familiar, comforting thing for him. This is neither familiar nor comforting.
This feeling is most definitely ice.
Axel is watching Roxas walk away, and it hurts.

"It's because he covets my nubile young body," said Wednesday idly. "That's the only explanation."
Friday rolled his eyes at his brother. "Because every guy who looks your way must want you."
"Of course." The Wednesday smiled slyly. "Except when they're checking you out. Like the new guy over there is."
"What?" Friday whispered. His fair cheeks were bright red with embarrassment. "He's looking at me?"
"He's also heading this way," Wednesday whispered as the new boy headed this way. His brother's reaction certainly answered the question of whether he was interested. "Try not to act too much like a moron."
Friday blushed even harder.

Date: 7/24/06 01:02 am (UTC)More than once she wanted to turn to him and say "If you want to go, we'll there with you. You don't have to be afraid with us at your side." Kairi didn't know why she didn't say it. Something held her back.
"When you look out on the ocean, it looks like the water is becoming one with the sky" Riku said. Kairi wondered if she understood what he was really saying. That he was still afraid she and Sora would leave him.
"They haven't actually touched. Not yet." Which was true. She and Sora had kind of fumbled towards it, but they weren't there yet.
"They will. Someday."
"Maybe," Kairi replied. Then she took Riku's hand. "But the sea meets the shore here and now." She squeezed his fingers. "We didn't leave you behind. What makes you think we're going to leave you behind now?"
Riku looked away from the sea and sky, looked at her. For a split second all she could see was his vulnerability. Then he laughed. "Keep reminding me. I forget."
Kairi smiled back.

WHAM!
Riku stared in amazement as Sora ran head first into the closed door and then bounced back several feet before ending up sprawled up ont he floor. "Ow."
He could say something. Instead Riku walked forward, put a hand on the door handle, and pulled it open. Then he gave Sora a look.
"That's not funny," Sora complained as he got to his feet.
"I didn't say a word," Riku replied.

Date: 7/26/06 12:28 am (UTC)Then they got to the part where the girl, Rose, took off her clothes. Davis suddenly became much, much more interested in the movie. Ken suddenly found the wall the most fascinating thing in the world.
"What are they doing, Davis?" Veemon asked.
"Um..."
"Yes Davis, what are they doing?" Ken asked in his most innocent sounding voice. Then he started laughing.
It was so totally worth getting hit by the pillow to see the look on Davis's face.

Date: 7/26/06 12:44 am (UTC)"I'm really sorry about this, Ma'am."
"It's okay," Tessa said as she jiggled the paperclip some more. The poor guy was wearing nothing but handcuffs, a collar, and a leash and he was apologizing to her? As soon as she got these stupid things open she was giving him her sweatshirt.
"In the future, Kate, you can pause long enough to grab the keys for these," Tessa said as the handcuffs gave a final satisfying click. Kate rolled her eyes and resettled herself in her corest. Her latest boy toy used his newly freed hands to cover his exposed crotch.
"Last time I did that, the fireman yelled at me for taking too long," Kate replied.
"If they say anything to you next time, I will take care of it," Tessa replied. Then she stripped off her sweatshirt and handed it to the boy. "Here. Tie this around your waist."
"Thank you, Ma'am."
"Ma'am? Let me guess. You go the the military academy?"
The boy turned bright red and Tessa sighed.
"Right, right. Don't answer that. I didn't see you. I don't know you. None of this happened. Now if you'll excuse me, I had some other people to check on."
