Chocolate pecan pie is in the oven cooking. We shall see if it is good enough for Thanksgiving.

It's got pecans, crust, and chocolate. How on earth could it not be good enough for thanksgiving?

Well for one thing, it can not set. Right now it's more of a chocolate/pecan ooze. Don't get me wrong: it's good. It's just not pie.

We shall see if a night in the fridge remedies this.

Small details. Besides, I've never had a pie set in my life, so I'm used to pie flavoured soup. My parents have slightly better luck, but none of us are quitting our day jobs to open a bakery. Okay, I can normally get pumpkin to cooperate, but that's about it.

I've actually had pretty good luck with getting pies to set (I make a mean ginger pumpkin pie). I haven't checked it this morning, but probably will after lunch. Hopefully, a night in the fridge will help.

You were planning to invite me over to sample said pie, weren't you? I mean, it's only my favorite pie in existence. >_>

Hey, next time you are up in the DC area, let me know and I will make it. Assuming a night in the fridge has made it set up.

It's the recipe from cooking for engineer (http://www.cookingforengineers.com/recipe/19/Erics-Chocolate-Pecan-Pie). The only thing about his recipes is they require a scale, because he gives some measurements by weight instead of volume (so oz and grams as opposed to tbs or cups).

He also has a recipe for regular pecan pie that doesn't use corn syrup, so I definitely want to try that well. I'm going to check on the pie after lunch to see if it's set after a night in the fridge.

Who am I?
