Person: When you said that the data would not appear in any maps you produced, I didn't realize you meant that the data wouldn't appear in any of the maps you produced.
Tsaiko: Where exactly did you think it would appear?
Person: In the maps we got.
Tsaiko: Do you want it to appear in the maps you get?
Person: No, we don't want it to appear in any maps.
Tsaiko: Great. Then we're good to go.
Person: But the data doesn't appear in the maps we're going to get!
Tsaiko: ...

I swear I honestly expected the theme from The Twilight Zone to start playing.

Person is either ill in the head, or has terrible communication skills. O_o

Terrible, terrible communication skills. I did finally figure out what the problem was, but man, that whole conversation was bizarre and brain-hurty even after I did.

You should have been looking for the little hidden camera and the people jumping out, the Candid Camera theme music playing.

This reminds me of what happens when I'm talking to customers at work who don't speak especially good English. It's quite clear they don't understand what I'm saying, or maybe what they're saying, because what they're saying in response doesn't make any sense in response to what I just said. Sure wished I knew Chinese a couple nights ago.

I would think that was the case if it wasn't plainly obvious that English was this person's first language. They just wanted something totally different than what we could provide and could not understand why we couldn't do it.

And the worst part of conversations like that? The person making no sense nearly always thinks they're making perfect sense, and it's your fault for not understanding what they want.

Gods, even with ESL and I wouldn't have problems understanding. And yet, presented with this type of evidence, I'm starting to believe I don't value my language skills as much as I should. *shakes head*

Who am I?
