Professional Darwinism: When someone does something so fundamentally stupid at work that it immediately and permanently removes them from employment. Bonus points if they also manage to prevent themselves from ever working in that field of employment again.

I think my favorite example someone gave was the guy who worked the graveyard shift and was caught the in the morning by security sleeping naked next to his girlfriend. Even better that this was a secure location and his girlfriend was not cleared to be there.

Anyone ever watch someone do this? I know I have. XD

There was a guy that worked at my store, where we sell scratch-off lotto tickets... Well, one day we got in a new roll of tickets, and instead of scanning them into the system and putting them in the dispenser, he took them home and scratched them all off. And then took them to a different store (in the same chain!) down the street and tried to cash in a whole bunch of winning tickets all at once. Er...

*boggles*

He scratched off an entire roll and didn't think anyone would notice that it was missing? Then tried to redeem at a store in the same chain? Good lord...

J knew of a grad student who was sleeping with his female students and promising them better grades if they slept with him. He tried to call one of them his girlfriend, which needless to say, backfired when he slept with another of his students behind her back and word got around. The 'girlfriend' went to the head of the department to report him, and he no longer is a grad student. Anywhere.

And you have to wonder how someone thought that was a good idea?

You should read my most recent posting on lj.

Of course, I think that that lady has slipped over the edge into insane but I'm assuming that she will not be working anymore for the charity organization who funds this grant after this.

You do not scream at a school principal that he is incompetent nor demand the district custodial superintendent fire the school's Head Custodian. Our school is one of the showplaces for how well it's maintained and great custodial staff.
Okay stops rant in someoneelse's journal.. sorry.

Good lord, what a nut case. I hope she won't be working for them either.

One of my old co-workers from the call center I worked in got himself fired with a series of small stupid things. He worked graveyards and once was caught sleeping on the floor (not naked with his girlfriend, but still kinda dumb).

The best was one I caught him at unintentionally (and the final straw that got him fired). I was running a report on the incidents we wrote up for our calls, and one of his caught my attention. Instead of a description of the call, he had written "I'm 5'4 and that accentuates certain assets."

Copy & paste ftw. XD Wonder what he was really up to...
