Viva Las Vegas!

After much trial and tribulation, we are in Las Vegas. Yesterday our 50 minute layover in Cincinnati (I love how we have to fly east in order to catch a play to fly west) turned into a 3 hours layover. From what I could gather, the problem was air traffic control out of Las Vegas. Basically, they had high winds and you could only approach the airport from the West in order to land. Normally, they would have two landing strips for this, but one of them is under construction so they were down to one usable landing strip.
Instead of getting to Las Vegas at a very reasonable 6:10 (9:10 EST) we got in around 9:10 (12:10 EST). Then we had to get a shuttle, get to the hotel, and check in. We finally got to sleep around 1am EST. And of course, woke up at 6am EST when we would normally get up. Which is around 3am in Las Vegas. We went back to sleep.
Attended one session of the conference this morning. There is absolutely nothing I wanted to attend in the mid-morning session so I can back to the hotel, bought wireless access, and am now surfing the web. Lunch will be with
miome. Then I think I'm going to go back for the afternoon sessions.
I am disappointed to see that there is not a repeat of last year's "Homosexuality and Geography" session that I missed, or "Geographies of the Dead", which I attended and loved. I made up for that by attending a session this morning called "Eclectic Geography."
