So while everyone else on my friend's list is exploding over the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender, I have been dying laughing at a totally different live action film. This one courtesy of 20th Century Fox.

My friends, I give you the live action Dragonball movie trailer.

This thing is going to suck like a hoover.

No, just no. The TV show was bad enough. This looks like it is going to suck ass. Majorly.

On a random note, I have a good ear for voices and appearances. So I'm sitting there thinking, "Whose the asian dude, he looks really farmilar."

I realized he's in the "King and I" with Jodie Foster. Talk about a demotion, eh?

One of the other graduate students that inflicted this upon stared for a moment and then said "Isn't that the guy from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Damn... he must really be needing grocery money to be playing in this."

I think everyone's opinion is that this is going to suck majorly.

I don't know, they have James Marsters (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0551346/) in there as Piccolo. He's usually not bad. Maybe rent was due or something?

Honestly, I would have paid them both not to be in this movie.

I saw a different trailer a while back. Everyone I know who is a DBZ fan was hoping it was faked.

Maybe it's because I've never seen any of the TV show but I found that to be the most BORING TRAILER EVER. Seriously, I was half-thinking of watching it before (James Marsters to see, an introduction to Dragonball ...) but I am now just ... asleep over the keyboard. It looks terrible.

I'd rather they did an Avatar CG along the lines of the Final Fantasy ones if they must.

There's some heated emotions regarding casting and whether it's offensive to have white actors portray a culture that has a lot of Asian and Inuit influences. Personally, I don't think everyone has to be strictly one or the other, but it'd be nice to get that and/or some "mutts". America is full of mutts after all. I'm a mutt. <3 I fear though that they may get some "latest big name" just to sell the film.

Oh DBZ, you're even sillier as a live action film.
