You know what the problem with setting up this Access database of my books is? I ran a query and it looks like I have well over $1,000 worth of books in one set of bookshelves. I haven't even started on the other two bookshelves (one of which has my text books on it) nor have I glanced at the monster bookshelves in miome's room.

If I have to up the limit on my renter's insurance just to cover my books... well, I don't know whether I'll laugh or cry.

Also, this does not take into account the huge bookshelf at my mom's NC house, which is floor to ceiling. Note to self: when in NC in November, ship all the books you want to keep to Indy.

upping the renters insurance by another 10 grand or so still isn't going to change your overall payment by much. I upped mine recently, and it was only three or four dollars difference.

I second Kaitou's comment. Renter's insurance shouldn't jump up much, and it'll give you peace of mind.

I've been meaning to make an inventory of my CDs, DVDs, and books too, though not for insurance reasons, but so I remember what the heck I have when i go out to buy "moar"! More than once I've bought something only to realize I already have a copy, after which I either return it or send it to a friend. ^^;; It's a daunting task though.

I need to up my renter's insurance by about $10k after putting most of my dvds into a database and finding that they value over $8k... @_@ I was thinking $2k, maybe $3k. Oi.

Speaking of which, for anyone with a Mac, DVDpedia is awesome. I highly recommend it.
