Back from Atlanta. I have the worse headache from flying. I'm seriously considering not going to class this evening. My cats love me and have already forgiven me for abandoning them for days. I wrote nothing but I did read all but the last quarter of the Temeraire books that
maderr lent me as well as half of the one of the sex lives of the Roman Emperors. I have to admit I spent most of the books rooting for Temeraire/Laurence slash. I'm going to eat some lunch, take some pain killers, and then head back out to the airport to pick up
miome at which point I'll decide if I can handle class (which would out me home after 9pm and I'm dead tired at this point).
Also, as a side note, if I complain of being sick in the next few days it is all my sister's fault.

Date: 11/27/07 03:17 pm (UTC)Headache didn't go away, but I forced myself to go to class and got a lot accomplished. Yay for reading indeed. I'm so looking forward to winter break just so I can sit down and read something other than a text book.

Date: 11/26/07 09:14 pm (UTC)Oh, if possible, can I get your new address to ship Holiday type stuff to you(even if you email it is ok)? I also got a possible job offer for going into oil exploration:
[This Field Engineer position with a global oilfield services company is a demanding, sometimes physical job involving complex technology utilized to optimize solutions for Exploration & Production companies. The information and services the Field Engineer provides helps E&P clients locate, evaluate, and produce oil and gas reservoirs more efficiently.]
Sorry to perhaps spam you with asking for help, but I'm not sure what to think about the email. I'm sure the field at the present time is good for oil and similar exploration, but it's going to become a limited resource probley in the next few decades. Then again, it'd be good for experience...

Date: 11/27/07 03:15 pm (UTC)Hrm... a Field Engineer? My only question on that would be what kind of hours do they expect you to put in. Sometimes they'll work the lower people more than they should. Otherwise, I'd say go for it. Yes it seems like oil and gas aren't going to last forever, but doing field work like that will give you a lot of transferable skills (especially if you then decide to go into something more environmental or civil, which is where a lot of the geology jobs are heading). The fact that is has Engineer in the title is also a plus, because people like to see that kind of title.
