Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? If I don't get suggestions, I'm going to be forced to read for class. And we can't have that.

Digimon it is
Date: 8/26/07 11:28 pm (UTC)He'd been kissed before. Correction, Davis had kissed people before but had never had the action returned. Since he was nine he'd stolen kisses from the girls in his classes, and had perfected the art of running before he could get smacked for ruining their first kiss. There was that one really weird time with Vee-mon just before he'd turned thirteen, but that didn't count. That really, really didn't count. So at just a few months before he was going to turn fifteen, Davis had decided that it was time to get down to the serious business of getting his first real kiss.
Having decided that, there was only one other really important decision in Davis's mind. Who would get the honor of being his first kiss? In the end it really came down to two people he’d want it to be special with. And since Kari was still resistant to his substantial charms for some reason that Davis had never quite figured out, that left only one person. Ken Ichijouji.
Which was going to cause all sorts of problems that Davis would rather have avoided. It wasn't so much the problem that he was a guy and Ken was a guy. Davis had long ago decided that that didn't matter much. He liked whom he liked, and sometimes he liked guys. Especially when they had a habit of bending over to pick up their pencils. Not that he had been staring or anything.
Anyway, gender was not the problem. The problem was that Ken was so... so... Ken. You didn't just hit on Ken without any emotion behind it. Not that Davis didn't have feelings for Ken. He did. Ken was his best friend, had been for years, and Davis wanted Ken to remain his best friend for years to come. And if he hit on Ken, if he got Ken to kiss him, then there was a good chance that things between them would suddenly become... weird. Davis had seen it happen before between friends who suddenly tried to become more than that.
In Davis's mind, Ken and Kari were exactly the same only totally different. Kari was the kind of girl you dated. You complimented her, bought her flowers, gave her chocolates, made sweet googley eyes at, asked her out on dates and maybe, just maybe if you were lucky and she was feeling generous, she agreed to go out with you. Kari was not the kind of girl you had wet dreams about or wanted to fuck. She was sweet and innocent and good, and thinking about her like that was just wrong.
Davis viewed the Ken in a similar fashion. He was Davis's friend. Ken was the kind of person you laughed with and played video games with and talked late into the night about stuff with. You dated strangers or acquaintances. You didn't date your best friend. There was too much of a chance you'd screw it up.
And yet... Davis found that given the chance, he wanted his first kiss to be with Ken.
This was going to take a lot of convincing on Davis's part. And planning. Davis had never been good at planning. But he was absolutely convinced, that he, Davis Motomiya, could do it.
