Since I was going stir crazy in the apartment, I came onto campus to check my email and do some work. It took me a little while, but I've gotten to a good starting point for Monday. I wanted to fool around with ArcMap while no one was around. It's been a few years since I've messed with it, and my skills were a bit rusty. I prefer to make my mistakes where the only person who can watch me flail is myself. Only two little oops. Couldn't remember how to set the coordinate system of a layer and don't think I've ever tried to set the transparency of a layer to something other than 100%. I love help files. They make life so much easier.

I also now have a working phone in the apartment. I'm still in the process of getting the number to the important people who should know. Of course, miome was the first to know the number, even before me. The phone company sent me an email stating "This is the phone number you chose. We can't guarantee anything, but it might be the one you actually get." When i came back home I had phone service. So I called Miome's cell and left a message "I now have phone service at the apartment. I have no idea what the new number is. Read it off your cell and call me back." LOL.

I need to call starparty and/or maderr this weekend to see if they want to do something next weekend. Stop by phone-a-phobic, Tsaiko!

I got to plant plants today. I have roma tomato, swiss chard, basil, and parsley all put in the ground. I should see sprout in 7-10 days. One the swiss chard has started shading the pot it's in, I'm going to put in some lettuce. Then I'm going to get another low planter and plant some of the mixed green seeds I got. Mmmm... salads. Then as the weather turns cooler I'll get some spinach and/or kale going.

I love plants.



Last but not least, I've been working slowly on stories. Picked up and wrote some on Race the Wind. I've decided to stop fighting the story and just write whatever part I feel like writing instead of trying to make it go in order. It's the only way it's going to work.

Don't know if I'll post it out of order. I may make you people wait. XD

You know, I was totally doing all the distances and stuff on google maps to see if there was a central place to all three locations!!! Um, I thought of a few options. But!! then I was thinking, hm, I wonder how many introvertedish people we can get together at one time before we all freak out? ^o^

I do think we'd live, though...

Well, I say let's see if Tsai, S & M all survive meeting, and then we'll see about adding you, me, and Miome. XD

Hey, I use to be part of the SCA. That brings trying to remember names to a whole new level. Now only do they have a regular name and a name they use at SCA, but they usually have a totally different on-line name.

There's one guy who I still call Xav because I didn't realize that was part of his SCA name.

Labor day meeting? I'm not sure. I haven't heard anything about it. Then again, I'm going to meet S & M this weekend for the first time so it might get mentioned then.

Triumph! ^^ That's a good way of finding out one's number. My dad had to have me do that for him because the phone company did something weird with the lines in his area and wound up having his number go to his neighbor's house and vice versa. o.o;; It was strange. ^^;

Ooh, yay vegetables! I'd like to try some cool season vegetables next spring, since I think that for a first try, I have enough vegetables to worry about right now, especially since I have pumpkins that appear to be plotting world domination. Or at least lawn domination. Let us know how yours do! ^_^
