I may be moving to Indianapolis is June as opposed to late July. OMGWTF?

We looked at apartments from 10am till 4pm on Sat. and then drove by others on Sunday. We've got about six maybes. I absolutely love the University. I got more help deciding on my graduate program in two hours then in one year at the last university. It looks to be good.

Heh, same with me, the company I interviewed for said that they are going through with a merger with another company, so they wouldn't be able to hire anyone til July. At least they did mention I was in the top tier of candidates. I'm still interested in the position, but if I can ask, any advice? If I can also be nosy, what sort of place will you get, a house or apartment? (is thinking of getting an apartment but musing about living with other people...)

So I've decided I'll just move back to Wis in the next few weeks(so that even if I don't get the job, at least I am there already), and then if nothing comes about elsewhere, check with the company again.

My advice would be to remain in contact with the company. Call once next month just to check up and see where they are in the merger. Mention that you're still interested in the job.

We're probably going to get an apartment, possibly one bedroom. I refuse to get a house now because a) we don't know if we'll stay in IN beyond two years and b) the housing market is still crashing. It'll have a ways to go before it'll hit rock bottom and I don't want a house I can't sell if I need to.

Good luck with the relocation as well. I really hope you get the job.

One of the departments has talked with me about getting a job with them over the summer doing work that may lead to my thesis. I'd like to do that because I want a jump on getting this done. I just have to wait for more concrete answers than "At some point."
