Dell managed to send the right part, thank goodness. So I am back on the internet. I haven't heard from my SMP partner, which makes me nervous. Oh well. They will get it when I finish it (and I'm not going to work on it tonight because I am just... not in the mood).
The only thing exciting that happened (other than Dell not shipping me the right part) was that I came out to one of my fellow graduate students. She took it well. "I suspected because of the way you always talked about your roommate that's going to move..." Oh yeah, I am subtle. Like brick.
Finally, I have discovered the way to keep all insects away from tomato plants. Tomatoes are notorious for being susceptible to all sorts of insects and diseases. Do you want to know my secret? Plant Swiss Chard. Swiss Chard has a reputation for being easy to care for, disease resistant, and has very few pests. My tomato plant is big, lush, green and will flower in less than a week. It looks picture perfect. My Swiss Chard isn't just holey, it is eaten down to a nub with the exception of about four mangled leaves. And unless deer are some how levitating up to my 2nd story balcony, I can't figure out what the heck is eating it.
Remember the tomatoes. They will make everything better.
