Friday, August 3rd, 2007 10:40 amI'll admit it. Despite absolutely trashing stuff I buy in the book store, I really try not to make fun of stuff I find on the internet. After all, I pay money for the stuff I find in a book store. If it sucks, I feel perfectly justified in sharing that with others so that the author hopefully stops writing or learns to write better. Negative reinforcement for negative behavior.
As for stuff on the internet, well, as long as they don't lie to me about what it's about, I feel I read it at my own risk. There are no editors. Heck, half the time there's no spellcheck. No money is exchanged. All I've wasted is my time. And I understand that the writing found up on the internet is a lot of times done in spare time just for the fun of it.
Sometimes I find something so hysterically bad I just cannot stop myself from pointing and laughing. And it's always better to get others to join with me.
