Netflix

One of the things miome and I did was set up the Wii so that we can stream movies from Netflix. This is an awesome service. Especially since we don't have cable and I happily watch every episode of Mythbusters ever made. Now I can feed my addiction and pay less than $10 a month (as opposed to $50+ a month for cable).

There is a downside to this. I'll go through the menus looking for stuff to watch and it will be all really bad movies. "These things look terrible!" I'll cry. Then I'll notice something that looks so incredibly bad that I want to watch it just to see if it's as bad as it sounds. So I add it to the queue. Which of course causes Netflix to go "Ah hah! She likes that type of movie." And then my suggestion list is filled with even worse movie titles.

It's a vicious cycle, I tell you.

I don't know if the Wii menus are any better, but the XBox menus are so horrid they make me want to cry. I've mostly given up on them entirely, and I just try to find stuff on the website and add it to my queue that way.

I like to try the bad movies too, so my Netflix suggestions are... interesting. One I really want to see is... SHARKTOPUS!

I've totally been there. I even get the freaky movie effect when I watch Indie moves. Then it starts adding strange French films. I think that Netflix has stopped trying to figure me out, though. I'm confusing it by being able to watch an action movie, comedy, anime, horror, indy, GLBT, foreign film, quirky humor, family movie, western... About the only category I don't watch is Romance. :)
