No, committee member, scheduling my defense after the start of school is not "more helpful." What's that? More of my fellow students might show if it was after classes started? I honestly could not give a shit. The beginning of school is crazy and there is no way on this green earth you will have a more open schedule once it starts. Trying to schedule around three professors' schedules is a nightmare as is. Throwing classes on it is just makes it worse. I have employers I am talking to who are really concerned about when I'm graduating. And, oh yes, I would like to actually have my degree sometime before 2010.

You have had my thesis for over a month.. I gave you two weeks headway on this, picked a date because you seem incapable of doing so, and got everyone else on my committee set up. All I need from you is one 2 hour time slot to show up and watch me do my song and dance. Are you allergic to a calendar or something? And you couldn't at any point send me a email giving me a heads-up to you having scheduling problems? No, of course not! Because you are the Ruler of Non-communication. I'll hand you the crown and smack you upside the head with your scepter.
