Flying fail

I swear this trip was just not the trip to fly. First, on the way to Las Vegas, our 50 minute layover in Cincinnati turned into a 3 hour layover. This was due to high winds and the Las Vegas airport only having one usable land strip.

Coming back was worse though. First, whoever designed the seating system for Northwest needs to be smacked. No one who booked tickets together was seated together. I mean no one. It wasn't just couples either. You had kids separated from parents. everyone had to do a seating reshuffle to get people together. It was awful. Then a line of severe storms came over Indianapolis as we were trying to land. We wound up circling the airport in turbulence for about a hour.

They finally cleared us for landing only to have another storm cell go over the airport. By this time I think we were fairly low on fuel and couldn't be diverted because they went ahead and landed us. I couldn't believe they didn't divert us (not that I particularly wanted to spend the night in Chicago, Cincinnati or Detroit) because there was lightning everywhere, driving rain, and wind gusts. Strangely enough, once we actually got below the clouds, the landing was as smooth as you could hope for. Heck, I've been on planes in perfect weather that didn't land as smoothly as this one did. We applauded the captain when we safely touched down.

I only hope my trip to Atlanta next month isn't as interesting. -_-

That was probably a wise decision. From what I understand, most of the country is getting hammered with a late season storm. Right now, we're getting snow in Indiana. -_-

And that flight sounded particularly sucky. X_x;; <333 Someone was telling me at work today that the snow was hammering Chicago too, so I doubt they would have diverted you there. I also heard Milwaukee was pretty bad too. Of course, I could get off my lazy butt and google it to see for myself, but I take some kind of perverse pleasure in spreading the rumors customers tell me? ^_^;;

Alas, I have nothing on Lulu. I've been meaning to, but I don't have anything I feel is finished enough. That and my thesis is going to be eating my soul for the next few months. Maybe after that I will get something up.

It's snowing here too, and if I actually had to be out in it, I'd probably be cursing it harder. Normally, I'm not all that against snow...it's just that it's been around since Nov and I'm over it. >_>

It's not sticking, thank goodness. All we're getting is sporadic snow mixed in with rain and sleet.

Usually I'm all about the snow, but this is getting ridiculous.

Are you coming to Atlanta to do another presentation, or is it something else? You could come just to see me... But if you're here on a Friday night, you should go see the Rocky Horror Picture Show live at the Plaza Theater. It's at midnight, which gets you out at about 2:30am, which is after the public transport system has closed (the one that opens back up at 5am -_-*), but if you have a car, you do whatever you want! And it's lots of fun. Just an idea. :D

I'm going to visit with my mom (who lives in Atlanta) and celebrate my birthday. I'll only be there over the weekend and alas, will not have a car. I am dependent on the MARTA if I want to go anywhere. There's no telling what my mom will have planned. Knowing her we'll be doing something every day I'm there -_-.

Though next time I'm in the area for a more extended period of time, I'd love to get together for lunch or something.

Ah ye old fun fun reseating shuffle. Surprised they didn't try to tack on a reseating fee considering how the airlines lurv their fees.

Did you play "Who Can Get the Most Girly Cards" there? They hand them out on every single bloody street corner in Vegas.
