I think mentioned this poor guy to [livejournal.com profile] tygati once. I still find his entire existence to be hysterically funny. He sole purpose is to amuse me.

Yes, all dragons in a position of power are called Queens. XD

Freshman Year:

Justin was nervous.

Two days from now he would be starting his freshman year at college. It was the first time he'd been away from home for more than two weeks, and that including the summer camps he'd gone to that were supposed to help him cope with being a dragon while a teenager. How was toasting marshmallows, taking cold showers while dodging nature, and trying not to kill a bunch of other hormonal teenagers that had also just discovered they were dragons supposed to help him cope with anything? Justin was still trying to figure that one out.

But now... now he was on his own. His parents had opted to help him move into the dorm early: five days before classes started as opposed to three. Justin had used to the extra time to buy his books, cruise around campus, and enjoy his blessed, blessed freedom.

Yesterday he'd come into his room and found a letter pushed through the bottom of his door. It was from the Office of the Campus Queen requesting that he meet with her before the start of school. Manners had kicked in because the last thing he needed to do was piss off the Campus Queen. He'd called and left a voicemail saying he could meet at 3pm today.

No reply. Unsure of what to do, Justin had decided to err on the side of caution and go. He'd gotten lost once, but that was not his fault. For some reason the Loredana Hall was not on the map. Justin had had to ask for directions twice just to find it.

It had almost made him late for his non-meeting. That was in the past though. Now he was standing outside of a small office, ten minutes to three, wondering if he should knock.

Justin hoped it was the right office. The letter he'd received had said Office 213. He'd found 212 and 214, and a heavy wooden door between the two which Justin assumed was the correct place. Office 213 seemed to be missing its numbers.

Right. Now he was just procrastinating.

In high school, Justin's power had still been in flux. All of the local dragons had told him that when they settled down, he would probably be pretty high powered. Not as high powered as Abigail, the district Queen, but maybe strong enough for a small city.

College campuses were considered small cities unto themselves. They were also considered vital, high profile places that were constantly in the eye of the more powerful Queens. Justin had heard that some Queens got territorial whenever they felt that someone stronger than them might take their position. Especially when it meant that they might not get the praise and advancement they felt was their due.

He really, really hoped that wasn't about to happen here.

Taking a deep breath, Justin knocked on the door. There was a muffled sound on the other side, some cursing, and then someone yelled "Enter." Justin turned the doorknob and walked inside.

And froze. He'd never seen so much paper in his life. In covered the floor in stacks that were at least two feet high. The desk was similarly covered, though the piles were only a foot or so tall. Two floor to ceiling bookshelves were practically lined in paper. Justin looked for a chair, and couldn't find one. He assumed it was buried among the paper.

"Can I help you?"

There was a dragon in human form sitting behind the desk. All Justin could see of her was the top of her head. Her golden blonde hair was beyond tousled and a pair of thick red glasses framed pale blue eyes. She was looking at him like all he could do was add to her problems.

"Um... hi. I got letter asking me to come by here before the start of school. I left a message but no one got back to me. My name is Justin Greer." The dragon only looked at him in confusion.

"Justin Greer. Justin Greer? Why does that name sound so familiar?" She drummed her fingers on a stack of papers. Suddenly she went very still.

"You! You're the Wind dragon that's starting this year." Justin watched as the other dragon lunged to her feet. Paper went every where as she stumbled around the desk. "You are more powerful than me."

"Maybe?" Justin hedged.

"This is great!" She stood in front of him and beamed. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for someone like you." With out another word she took off her medallion and placed it around Justin's neck. "There you go. Now this crazy place is your problem."

"You can't be serious." She had just made him Queen of the campus. He couldn't Campus Queen. He was barely a freshman.

"Oh, I'm very serious. Tell the bitch who runs the district that I quit. Quit. She can take this entire place and all her paperwork and shove it where the sun don't shine. That's a direct quote so make sure you put it in the report. She'll demand a report. She always does. If she needs me, well, too bad. I'm quitting school to so she can't track me down at my dorm room. Good luck!"

"I don't... I don't even know your name." Too late. The dragon was gone leaving Justin standing in an office that was literally coated in paper.

This... could not be happening.

This is what happens when I start rereading my STFU stuff.
