tsaiko: Gif of a lemming falling off an edge (gourd!)
Because someone had to post this most amazing parody in their LJ, even if people who haven't seen X and/or Tokyo Babylon might not get it Just rest assured that our geekiness is mighty.

Miome: *in a deep creepy voice* But we have met Shoi. A long time ago.
Shoiryu: *in a scared little kid voice* Under a sakura tree?
Miome: Under the TAAS Banner. Do you know why the TAAS banner is red?
Shoiryu: Because it feeds on the blood and souls of people?
Miome: No, because we were on NC State campus.
*Tsaiko and Fenin crack up*

It was late and we were tired. Really there is no other excuse.

EDIT: Dear self,

After eight years of anime and several years of reading about Japan, if you cannot even spell "Tokyo" right you have a problem.

No love,
Tsaiko

GASP! I've been spotted.

^^

Writing on The Novel is going slowly. (As a side note: I love how it went from "That book I'm writing" to "The Novel." I've already mastered One of the many Things I'll have to master in order to write Fantasy. I randomly capitalize Nouns in order to make Them sound important.) Of course, I've set a very low bar to cross when it comes to writing it. 215 words a day isn't exactly going to make me break any speed writing records (that's about 1,500 words a week and 78,000 words for the year). Still, it's a low enough goal that I can accomplish it even when I don't feel like writing.

Right now I'm in the rough draft stage. I'm writing scenes and chapter without much detail, just enough dialogue and action that I know what's going on, and plots holes the size of Kansas. That's okay though. This is a rough draft. I'll clean it up later once I've gotten the main points down.

World building is sketchy to non-existant at this point. Hell, the name of the planet so far is (planet) with such places as (city) and (country) thrown in for good measure. They even speak (language). Doesn't that sound like a delightful place to visit? Luckily, "Search and Replace" is my friend. When I decide to actually work on the structure of the language and stuff I can fill in those things.

All other writing continues to elude me. There's nothing more depressing than staring at a blank screen for thirty minutes before giving up and playing your 3,467th game of Solitaire.

Note to self: You desperately need to get your stories off your old laptop and onto the new one. Access to them usually kick starts your urge to work on them or start something new.

Who am I?
